Dr. Blake Rosso, born in rural Minnesota, first came to Maine and Mount Desert Island as an Americorps volunteer in 2005. He contracted Lyme disease in 2007. Inspired by the people he met during his recovery, he decided to pursue a career in natural healthcare. Upon graduating from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2013, Blake returned to Maine as doctor of chiropractic, eager to help other people through their own healing journeys. When he’s not practicing chiropractic, Dr. Rosso can usually be found in his garden or out hiking through the mountains of MDI.
In 2014 Dr. Rosso co-founded 54 Herrick Integrative Medicine (now 54 Herrick Wellness Collective). In July of 2019, he moved on from that location and currently offers his services from a cozy two room clinic in the heart of Southwest Harbor.
In practice, Dr. Rosso offers a unique blend of healthcare that integrates traditional chiropractic technique with functional muscle work. He believes that through injury and illness, our true nature remains whole and unharmed. He sees health as our natural state of being and believes that we maintain our health through an alignment of body, mind and environment. In times of stress or injury, Dr. Rosso believes that the role of the body worker should be to offer deep listening and gentle encouragement as the patient’s body unwinds and remembers its way back to comfort and balance.
